The Honest Company’s James D. White on creating an anti-racist culture.
The events of recent years have convinced many companies of the importance of achieving diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging (DEIB) in the workplace.
This is a great start, but achieving true DEIB requires more than just a desire to improve. It involves a new approach to everything from recruiting to giving assignments to determining what makes someone a cultural fit. It takes several years of intentional change. It means applying analytics as rigorously as in every other aspect of the business. And it requires leaders who are fully committed to creating a diverse, anti-racist culture at every level of the organization.
In this discussion from the 2022 Great Place To Work® For All Summit™, James D. White, CEO at The Honest Company, talked with Ellen McGirt, senior editor at Fortune, about James’s book “Anti-Racist Leadership: How to Transform Corporate Culture in a Race-Conscious World” and how to create a truly diverse, equitable work environment.
